Responsibilities

  • Direct all manufacturing functions including production, engineering, mining, maintenance and administrative functions.
  • Plan for capital improvements and projects.
  • Establish effective employee relations to ensure the availability of a well-trained and motivated work force.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and an atmosphere of continuous improvement, with a heavy focus on MSHA.
  • Develop subordinates, as well as direct, train, supervise, schedule and overall management of the operation to ensure quality output at minimum cost.
  • Regularly interface with sales, marketing and customer service to ensure customers’ needs are being met.
  • Responsible for maintaining production rates to best utilize equipment and labor while managing costs.
  • Oversee planning and execution to ensure long term goals and objectives are met.
  • Has involvement with other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS in related technical field or business field
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in an industry-related field
  • Must have experience in diverse functional roles and the ability to work independently.
  • Must provide strong leadership skills under pressure.
  • Must be a champion for change.
  • Must have the ability to manage and balance plant-wide production and maintenance needs.
  • Must have a strong customer focus for both internal and external customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated balance between analytical and creative thinking.
  • Must be a self-starter who seeks responsibility and is able to work with minimal direction.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to challenge conventional ideas and to be flexible and be able to function effectively in a team environment.
