Position: Pryor, Oklahoma. 

Responsibilities

The individual directs electrical maintenance activities at both the plant and quarry, which include repairing and adjusting existing electrical equipment as well as installing new equipment. They provide daily assignments for electricians and inspect ongoing work, while also completing daily time reports.

Additional responsibilities include problem-solving and root cause analysis, component design, preparation of contract documents and scopes of work, coordination, scheduling required work, supervising contractors, and ordering materials.

The individual conducts periodic inspections of field instrumentation, wiring, calibration, equipment condition, and proper installation to ensure optimal operating performance. They oversee electrical maintenance on field instrumentation and the replacement of defective parts.

They are responsible for directing the calibration of instrumentation and control devices, testing systems for proper operation after repairs, and working from schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s instructions. A maintenance schedule for all systems hardware, following the manufacturer's instructions, is also prepared.

The individual directs ongoing preventive and predictive maintenance inspections and procedures for electrical and electronic equipment. They attend coordination meetings and are responsible for reviewing and assisting with all corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.

Ensuring adherence to the company's rules of conduct, health, and safety regulations among their team, they also implement recommended disciplinary actions for any violations. The preparation of electrical maintenance and construction contracts falls under their responsibilities.

They plan, design, coordinate, and schedule specific corrective maintenance projects while maintaining records of costs associated with all project work. The individual trains and supports plant personnel in the electrical preventive and predictive maintenance program and participates in the plant’s on-call program.

Additionally, they conduct or attend weekly safety meetings and inspect the department for unsafe working conditions and signs of equipment breakdowns to minimize on-the-job accidents and eliminate lost-time injuries. They are committed to self-improvement, particularly in staying updated on new developments in the electrical and electronics industry.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of a two-year degree in engineering or related fields, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years in the electrical field
  • Must be proficient with reading blueprints and schematics; computer skills, including knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing software. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to identify problems that arise and implement corrective measures

Physical Requirements: 

Moderate physical exertion; walking and climbing stairs and ladders, occasionally assisting employees with unloading supplies. Must be able to read typed letters, computer screens and printouts, electrical drawings, and schematics.  The physical environment in the plant is dusty, noisy, and potentially hazardous. Requires minimal travel.
