We are looking for a student intern at our Festus, MO plant who want to become part of the solution, help us continue providing quality products, and grow our talent and leader pool.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire technical competences related to cement manufacturing and related equipment. This includes knowledge of cement chemistry and standards.
  • Perform process studies/audits at the plant; evaluate key performance indicators; follow up with plant personnel; discuss actual versus budgeted equipment operations and performance standards; and provide suggestions to improve/optimize operations.
  • Maintain consistent and accurate process related reports and documentation such as mill inspection, process measurements, and time studies.
  • Develop strategies and solutions jointly with Management and Engineering teams focused on optimization, automation and process improvement.
  • Evaluate, track and optimize process conditions by utilizing process tools to compare/contrast and consolidate incidents.
  • Evaluate, track and optimize the kiln’s refractory life by maintaining the company-utilized software dedicated to this purpose.
  • Understand the importance of safety as it relates to the various tasks assigned during time spent at the Chattanooga plant.

Salary Level:  Paid - $30.00 per hour plus monthly housing stipend

 

Duration:  12 weeks, 40 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter and inquisitive by nature
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, Project , VISO
  • Solid reasoning, analytical, technical and communication skills
  • Must possess excellent work ethic
  • Must be able to multi-task
