Responsibilities

  • The Mix Chemist directs the implementation of the quality control plan as per the Quality Manual, Sampling and Testing Plan.
  • The primary responsibility of the Mix Chemist is to assure that the products meet the targets that are set by the Quality Supervisor as approved by the Quality manager.
  • In addition, the Mix Chemist is responsible for tracking process changes as needed to meet the targets and for the documentation of
  • In charge of encoding his results to CMS;
  • Inform the Quality Manager/Quality Supervisor/Production of any deviation in control and offer solution if possible (within means)
  • Sampling of Raw materials, raw mix, kiln feed, clinker and cement
  • Perform cement testing according to Sampling and Testing Plan:
    • Blaine
    • Fineness
    • SO3
    • LOI
    • Process control through manual adjustments in raw mix/Process control using different control methods.
    • Process control of several types of cement.
  • Operates XRF, XRD, Jaw Crusher, Press Pellet Machine, Grinding machine.
  • Will have to analyse raw materials such as shale, limestone, silica (D Ledge), Bottom ash and millscale , and different bauxite
  • Assist Quality Manager on troubleshooting issues from time to time thru sampling and testing that are not according to Sampling and Testing plan.

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in English language – written and spoken;
  • Have mathematic skill
  • Computer literate (word, excel)
  • Can move samples up to 25 kilograms (50 pounds)

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years related industrial lab experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Basic PC skills and familiarity with Windows- based operating environment required; familiarity with spreadsheet software preferred.
  • Requires physical dexterity and strength to lift heavy objects and move through close areas. Physical environment in the plant is dusty, noisy and potentially hazardous.
