Responsibilities

Buzzi Unicem USA is looking to hire a Maintenance Inspector, at our Stockertown Plant. 

 

Essential Functions:

    • Analyze, test, or validate equipment data.
    • Develop equipment analysis routes utilizing; thermography, vibration analysis, temperature readings, oil analysis, UT readings, and visual inspections.
    • Document and design action plans to react to equipment testing results.
    • Document technical analysis design details.
    • Assist outside engineers and technicians with research and data collection.
    • Assemble testing equipment or components.
    • Explain engineering drawings, specifications, or other technical information.
    • Test products for functionality and, or quality.
    • Review technical documents to plan work scopes.
    • Provide technical guidance to other personnel
    • Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.
    • Estimate technical or resource requirements for development or production projects.
    • Create graphical representations of mechanical equipment.
    • Evaluate designs, or specifications to ensure quality.
    • Monitor the productivity or efficiency or industrial operations.
    • Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical or integrated systems or equipment.
    • Conduct quantitative failure analyses of operational data.
    • Schedule operational activities for analysis.
    • Assemble mechanical components or machine parts.
    • Collaborate with others to develop or refine data collection.
    • Fabricate devices or components needed to acquire data safely.
    • Assist in filling in for Mechanical Maintenance Supervisors when required and on-call duties.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Post-secondary certificate or 5-7 years’ experience.

Reliability/ troubleshooting maintenance training is a plus.

Knowledge of industrial equipment such as Belt Conveyors, Ball Mills and Kilns is helpful.  Heavy Mechanical Background and understanding of machinery is required.  Strong Computer skills are required along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.

Must be able to spend 75% of the workday in the field in and around industrial equipment.

Must be able to perform tasks safely and comply with all safety rules and regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Sitting, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Twisting, Climbing, Balancing, Bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), Kneeling, Reaching, Grasping (use of both hands), Squatting, Repetitive Motions, Manipulative finger movements with both hands, Use of Wrists (Flexing or Rotating with both wrists), Use of both feet, Use of Arm Above Shoulder (needs both arms), Use of Arm Below Shoulder (needs both arms).  Perform duties in all climates i.e., weather, extreme temperatures, heights, Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., Work in dust, fumes, gases and chemicals and a noisy environment.

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

 

Climbing is considered ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.  Body ability is emphasized.  This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.  Balancing is maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.  This factor is important if the amount and kind or balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.  Stooping is bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.  This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.  Walking is moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

 

SENSORY ABILITIES:

General vision, hears, listens, and speaks clearly.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Safety glasses, safety googles, steel-toe safety shoes, hardhat, fall protection, reflective vest or uniform, hearing protection, respirator use, gloves, and heat protection as needed, face shields or goggles.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

There will be noise, dust, and heat.  With work under pressure/stress while working rapidly.
