Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the procurement activities of our cement plants located in Chattanooga, TN and Maryneal, TX and execute purchasing at both the corporate and plant level.
  • Must be a collaborative leader that drives performance and strives for improvements in existing processes and practices.
  • Responsible to create RFQs and purchase orders for the plants as needed, check compliance to existing Corporate Agreements and to create new ones as appropriate.
  • Provide support in companywide analysis of procurement cost and spare parts inventory and assist with spare parts setups and catalogues.  
  • Responsible to support the plants in resolving issues with suppliers as necessary and coordinate assets disposal activities.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, must be the champion of the utilization of the Oracle Purchasing, Inventory Modules and TSV system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business & Economics, Supply Chain or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in Purchasing, Materials, Inventory and Manufacturing
  • Able to write POs, RFQs, Purchasing Agreements and the ability to compare proposals
  • Knowledge of E-Business and supply chain principles and terms
  • Understand macro-economic factors affecting prices of fuels, power, purchased materials, castings and maintenance supplies
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive experience with raw material and maintenance inventories and catalogues
  • Experience with successfully driving strategy development and execution, project management, supplier performance management, supplier analysis and selection and root cause problem solving
  • Extensive accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills along with intermediate knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Supply chain certifications are a plus
  • Familiarity with operational aspects and equipment utilized in the cement industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle Purchasing module is a plus
  • Must be able to travel, maximum of 50% of the time to other Buzzi Unicem USA facilities
