Responsibilities

Our Festus, MO Plant is looking for an experienced Quality Manager who will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the Quality and Shipping Departments, which include overseeing proper mix changes and scheduling of departments.    

  • Work with customers to resolve any issues/complaints regarding the cement quality or delivery of the final product as well as to maintain contact with Sales & Technical personnel.
  • Provide the final approval for milltest and letters of certification, as well as to work with the State’s DOT for the cement approval and Federal Agencies to certify lab procedures and equipment.
  • Investigate and report on accidents involving employees and equipment, while promoting and enforcing safe working practices and good housekeeping.
  • Must maintain current knowledge of the collective bargaining agreement and related plant policies, and to seek opportunities to promote and instill an attitude of cost and profit consciousness.
  • Must also compile the annual budget for the Quality department and monitor expenditures against approved budget plans, as well as to assist the Maintenance Manager in preparing budgets for the Lab.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Chemical Engineer, Chemistry or related technical field required
  • 5 years in an industrial environment
  • Preferable cement chemistry and process knowledge
  • Proficiencies in chemistry and plant operations
  • Candidate should have a strong technical background with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to conveying accurate and appropriate information
  • Good organization, human relations and decision making abilities
  • Good computer skills
